New Wichita City ID Cards: A Boost for Residents and Community

Great news for Wichita residents! The City of Wichita has launched its new city identification card program, designed to empower residents and strengthen our community. These free ID cards are now available to all Wichita residents aged 14 and older.

What’s on the Card?

Each City of Wichita ID will feature the resident’s name, photo, address, date of birth, a unique ID number, and an expiration date.

How Does it Help You?

The city created these IDs to help you easily access city services and fully participate in daily life. It’s also a fantastic way to promote community pride and give residents a tangible form of identification they can be proud of.

While these cards aren’t valid for state ID purposes (like voting), they are I-9 compliant. This means they can be used to verify employment eligibility, opening up job opportunities for individuals who may not currently have other forms of verified identification.

Get Your Free ID Today!

The Wichita City Council unanimously approved this program on March 18, 2025. You can get your free City of Wichita ID at City Hall (1st floor), Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
